Hook Norton celebrates England’s patron saint as 303AD returns to the bar. The latest beer in its Brewers Selection series 303AD will be on sale throughout April.

Hook Norton’s Brewers Selection beer for April is 303AD, named to commemorate St George and the year, the year of the martyr's death.

Hook Norton 303AD is an ideal beer for anyone wanting to celebrate the diversity and richness of English culture. Hook Norton 303AD, at 4.0 per cent ABV, is made with English malt and English hops, which combine to make a very English beer.

Hook Norton Managing director James Clarke said: “St George’s Day offers licensees an opportunity to present real ale, positively to a new audience, as well as to established drinkers.

“Hook Norton’s beers are quintessential English ales, with a modern twist. Our Brewers Selection beer for April, 303AD, so named to commemorate St George and the year AD 303, the year of the martyr's death, would be an ideal beer for anyone wanting to celebrate the diversity and richness of English culture.

“We celebrate saints of Ireland, Scotland and Wales – Patrick, Andrew and David – but now it is the time we celebrate St George.

“St George is the patron saint of England and we can celebrate his day on 23 April with a glass of Hook Norton’s 303AD.”

Dry and crisp with a hint of citrus and banana. Excellent with most foods it works well with many non meat dishes and is a superb compliment to English lamb and beef.

303AD is brewed with a small proportion of amber malt, and the innovative and environmentally friendly dwarf hop variety First Gold.
