Hook Norton welcomes Spring with 'First Light'

Hook Norton welcomes the longer, lighter days with the release of First Light, the latest in its Brewers Selection 2011 range of draught beers.

Hook Norton’s First Light will be available from 1 March for three months.

Hook Norton’s First Light, at 4.3 per cent ABV, is a very pale, light brew with a complex hop aroma and is ideal to drink on its own as a thirst quenching drink or as an accompaniment to food.

Hook Norton Managing Director James Clarke said: “First Light’s continental type palate is from the high proportion of malted wheat used to make the beer, which is used in addition to malted barley.

“A salute to the approaching longer, warmer days, First Light is a pale, light brew with a complex aroma. The malted barley and malted wheat give it an exotic palate. The finest Styrian hops are added, which gives a fruity nose, with hints of watermelon and lychees.”

First Light is the second in Hook Norton’s Brewers Selection 2011 range of nine draught beers, which will be available throughout the year.

April sees the return of 303AD – brewed to celebrate England’s patron Saint George.

May’s Brewers Selection is SDM – Special Dark Mild – with a deep rich, full body, slightly sweet, fruity flavour it is brewed to celebrate the Campaign for Real ale’s promotion of mild style beers in May.

In June Haymaker returns for three months.

Copper Ale returns for three months at the beginning of September. In October Flagship goes on sale for one month. The ever popular Twelve Days will be on bars for one month from 1 December.
