County firefighters 'inspired' by beer
15th November 2007
Every Oxfordshire firefighter received a bottle of beer last week,
as a way of thanking them for their hard work during July's flooding.
Hook Norton brewery presented Oxfordshire's Chief Fire Officer,
John Parry, with 600 bottles of the newly launched Inspired ale,
at the Rewley Road fire station, in Oxford.
James Clarke, managing director of the Hook Norton brewery, said,
"Having two retained firefighters on our staff, we were very
aware of the hard work being carried out across the county to help
those that were affected by the flood water. It seems appropriate,
therefore, to make a small gift to each of Oxfordshire's firefighters
in recognition of this hard work." Chief Fire Officer, Mr Parry,
said, "I'm sure the fire crews will all enjoy their beer when
off-duty!"
